I’m honoured and thrilled to be on the short-list for the 2025 Commonwealth Short Story Prize with my story, Nuala Nu. The judges selected 25 stories for the short-list from almost 8000 entries. Nuala Nu continues the story of a character from my 2019 novella-in-flash ‘The Neverlands.’ In the story, Nuala struggles with immigration and burgeoning adolescence when she and her widowed Mammy move to Canada from Ireland in the 1970s. It was a joy to spend time with Nuala again!
